The New Curved Skylight at Willis Tower in Chicago

Eyes on the sky.

The iconic Willis (Sears) Tower has had many changes over the years. Whether you remember the outrage towards the building’s new name, or the addition of the Skydeck, the building has been updated many times.

The curved skylight is the newest addition to Chicago’s tallest building, and it opens up the entryway to the building in a way no other buildings in the city have.

With $500M spent on the renovation, which included 240 glass panes installed through the Chicago winter, this addition has transformed the skyscraper’s offerings. A food and retail hall will be at the tower’s base, where looking up offers patrons and visitors unbeatable views of the 1,450-foot tower.

Check out the timelapse video of those 240 glass panes being installed!
