4 Home Trends to Try This Fall

The weather is cooling down outside, which means we’ll be spending a lot more time inside – be sure to try out these four home trends to achieve a perfect ambiance for cozy relaxation this fall.

1. WARM-TONED COLORS

Warm-toned color schemes consist of many earth tones and neutrals that stand the test of time. Using colors that mimic the shades of the changing leaves, such as natural tans & browns, deep reds, toned-down oranges, and warm yellows, emulates a perfect fall day in the comfort of your home.

This trend can be achieved with fresh paint or wallpaper, or if you’re looking for something less permanent, try using decor in this color palette that can easily be swapped out from season to season.

2. NATURAL FINISHES

A big trend this season is the use of natural finishes such as wood and a variety of stones. Try using things such as rich walnut dining tables, soothing oak entertainment centers, marble countertops, terrazzo side tables, or clay vases. This trend can also be achieved on your walls with paneling, shiplap, or exposed brick and on your ceilings with exposed wood beams.

The addition of these natural finishes brings elements from the outdoors into your home, giving it that warm, cozy feeling we all love during the fall.

3. COZY TEXTILES

Fall is the start of “cozy season,” and there’s no better way to stay cozy than with bundles and bundles of soft blankets and pillows. A big trend that has stuck around in recent years is sherpa everything. Sherpa is a great, cost-effective alternative to wool; it is soft and comfortable but also heavy enough to keep you warm in the cooler months.

Fleece, cashmere, knit, cotton, or linen also make for great options when selecting blankets and pillows to keep you cozy this fall. Don’t be afraid of layering a combination of them all!

4. JEWEL TONES

If neutral isn’t your thing, you can still stay on trend this fall by using jewel tones. The term “jewel tone” derives from the precious gemstones these colors emulate, such as sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. Jewel tones exude a moody, dramatic vibe that brings inviting warmth to any space.

These tones can be used as sole paint colors or easily incorporated into home goods such as satin pillows or velvet armchairs and sofas. The more jewel-toned elements you use, the more drama your space will have!
