The area is named after Willard Scott, Naperville’s first settler, whom the local Potawatomi tribe called "White Eagle." The neighborhood consists of 1,085 homes and provides extensive recreational facilities. As a pool and tennis community, White Eagle features a zero-depth pool, a water slide, a lap pool, and a landscaped eating area. The tennis facility offers eight lighted courts and seasonal programs for all ages. Residents can also rent a clubhouse with a full kitchen.
Education and safety are key features of the community. White Eagle Elementary School is located within the neighborhood, which is also served by 24/7 security. The community surrounds the Arnold Palmer-designed White Eagle Golf Club, providing residents with open space and scenic views. While membership is optional, the club's 51,000-square-foot clubhouse includes exercise facilities, a dining room, a swimming pool, a lounge, banquet rooms, and clay tennis courts.
