You gotta love November! The leaves are falling, the weather is nice, plus great holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. As always, there\u2019s a lot going on in the Chicagoland area. Here are a few tips on some of the best events happening this fall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Art Institute Of Chicago\u2019s After Dark Featuring Andy Warhol<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Check out a new side of one of America\u2019s most famous artists with this major retrospective and late-night event organized by the world-famous Whitney Museum. The Art Institute Of Chicago has assembled over 350 works from Warhol\u2019s career to peruse, and of course, there\u2019s a full program of in-person entertainment as well! There\u2019s a performance scheduled by Gilligan Moss, DJ sets coordinated by Bizarre Love, and of course a high-end cocktail bar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chicago Bears versus Baltimore Ravens, Soldier Field<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve never been to a Bears game, what\u2019s stopping you? It\u2019s one of the most visceral experiences in Chicago, and entering historic Soldier Field is an event in itself. The Ravens have one of the best teams in the division this year, and the Bears are looking to bounce back. After wins over Detroit and the Las Vegas Raiders (it still feels weird to say that), our Bears have run into problems with both Tampa Bay and the hated Packers. Hopefully, we can turn things around! You can usually find tickets for around $130 via the official resellers, or sometimes less in front of the stadium. If being outside at the game isn\u2019t your thing, head to Wrigleyville or Wicker Park and join other Bears fans at the bar! Whether win or lose, it\u2019s always a good time. November 21<\/span>st<\/span>, at noon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lindiwe at the Steppenwolf<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Eric Simondson\u2019s highly anticipated world premiere theatre show, featuring the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The theatre curtain opens, and the story travels from Chicago\u2019s Kingston Mines to South Africa and beyond. A love story unfurls and helps to define the boundaries between this world and the next. If you love musical theatre or African music, this one is for you! One in a long line of collaborations between the five-time Grammy award-winning group and the Steppenwolf, the first eventually went to Broadway and received multiple Tony nominations. Check the new one on November 7<\/span>th<\/span>, and thereafter at the Steppenwolf Theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

What can we say about it, it\u2019s the Thanksgiving Day Parade! On November 25<\/span>th<\/span> (quite early in the morning) the famous parade makes its way up iconic State Street in the Loop with marching bands, giant inflatable turkeys, equestrian performers, and all kinds of civic organizations. Created in the 1930s to help lift Chicagoans\u2019 spirits after the Great Depression, the tradition has endured until the present day. The generous-sized route means unlike the Tree Lighting it\u2019s not too tuff to get a good seat if you want to go in person, but a lot of Chicago residents prefer to watch this in their living rooms with some good takeout!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

We couldn\u2019t *not* mention this. Better known as \u2018the Tree Lighting\u2019 and \u2018the Parade,\u2019 Magnificent Mile Lights Festival might be the biggest party in Chicago in November. Many of us grew up going to this with our parents, and now even take our own kids. What started as one tree soon became a whole day of adventure, as a parade of floats rides by and countless trees on the Magnificent Mile are illuminated. It all happens on November 20<\/span>th<\/span> in front of the famous Wrigley Building; at 4:30pm the tree lighting ceremony begins, and an hour later the parade starts. The official beginning of the holiday season in Chicago!<\/span><\/p>\n
