According to the National Association of Realtors<\/a>\u2019 <\/span>2019 Profile of Home Staging<\/span><\/a>, 83% of buyers\u2019 agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home and 25% of buyer\u2019s agents said that staging a home increased the dollar value offered between one and five percent, compared to other similar homes on the market that were not staged. In other words, if you\u2019re hoping to sell your home quickly and are hoping to receive your asking price – stage your house!<\/span><\/p>\n

While the thought of staging your home to impress potential buyers may be overwhelming, these five tips will help alleviate any stresses you may have.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stage the Right Rooms<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the NARs report, the median dollar value spent on home staging was $400. <\/span>This is cheaper than lowering your asking price!<\/span> Don\u2019t spend time, or money, staging rooms that hold less importance to buyers. The most common rooms that should be staged are living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and master bedrooms; don\u2019t stress over bathrooms or guest bedrooms!<\/span><\/p>\n

This should be standard. You want every inch from the floor to ceiling corners and anywhere in between to be spotless. Dust, cobwebs, and grime won\u2019t sell your house. Make your home look bigger by putting away, packing, or donating miscellaneous items such as clothing or d\u00e9cor (keep some, but make sure they\u2019re subtle). Potential buyers are trying to picture themselves living in your current home, not you! Put away or pack any framed photos, clear counters of personal items, and any large, loud artwork. Dark rooms are not inviting, and no potential buyer wants a home they don\u2019t feel invited into. Open blinds on all windows and turn on all lights for showings. This will not only make your home more welcoming but more light will make rooms seem bigger.<\/span><\/p>\n
