Chicago’s North Shore Hot Spot Round-Up

Chicago’s charming North Shore borders Chicago along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. The North Shore consists of the following communities and suburbs: Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Northbrook, Northfield, Prospect Heights, Skokie, Wheeling and last but certainly not least, Winnetka. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, looking to invest just outside of the city center, or simply want to maximize those longer summer days, we’ve compiled the ultimate list of hot spots for you to go to!

Hewn Bakery

This independent women-owned bakery is an Evanston favorite. You’ll be hypnotized by the smell of their 100% organic handmade bread and we guarantee you’ll be coming back for their delicious pastries and sandwiches.

Found Kitchen and Social House

Considered the best restaurant in downtown Evanston, Found Kitchen and Social House’s 1920’s Bohemian Paris atmosphere paired with the best local produce and ingredients of each season makes this an up-scale and one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Avli Estiatorio

Head to downtown Winnetka for an authentic Greek culinary experience. They are known for their unique regional dishes from Northern Greece and their large wine list. If we were you, we would make reservations on their lively outdoor patio.

Ten Ninety’s is known for its unique and elevated craft beer. The staff is enthusiastic and will teach you everything you want to know and more about their selection of house beer. To accompany your pint, they offer a wide range of homemade dishes too.

Art Post Gallery

Established in 1980, the Art Post Gallery in Northbrook attracts clientele across the country.

It features the largest inventory of original art on the North Shore and is known for oil paintings, watercolors, etchings, and vintage art by well-known international artists.

Cultivate Urban Rainforest & Gallery

If you’re passing through Evanston over the weekend, this plant nursery and friendly neighborhood shop is a must. Not only do they have a rare selection of plants but they also host workshops and art exhibitions.

Winnetka’s Tower Road Beach

A crowd favorite due to its size and cleanliness. The great thing about Winnetka’s Tower Road Beach is that it caters to everybody. Whether you want to take your kids out of the city, do a pit stop during a bike ride or meet your friends for a cookout, this beach is accessible and offers some of the most stunning views of Lake Michigan.

Glencoe Beach

If you’re the sporty type, we recommend you head over to Glencoe Beach to rent a sailboat, a kayak or some paddleboards for some adventure.
