The Art Institute of Chicago
Every Thursday from 5-8PM at the Art Institute is free for Illinois residents. Under the age of 18? Lucky you: it’s free every day.
Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier
Thursday from 5-8PM and the first Sunday of every month are free! Kids under the age of 15 are always free.
Chicago Cultural Center
Chicago Design Museum
Tuesdays through Saturdays are free.
Chicago Fed’s Money Museum
Daily free admission.
Chicago History Museum
Free each Tuesday from 12:30-9PM with the exception of January 9th, December 18th and 25th. Also free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, and March 4th and July 4th. Members of the museum (as well as DuSable, Natl. Museum of Mexican Art, or Natl. Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture) have free access, too. Members of Chicago Police Dept., Chicago Fire Dept., US Armed Services, and Illinois teachers always get free access, as well.
